The Crown

Five-hundred year-old coaching inn, The Crown hotel in Amersham has undergone a modern-rustic makeover at the hands of style guru Ilse Crawford, seeing its original olde-worlde features seamlessly complemented by a fresh, contemporary-comfy design. The pub-style restaurant is still at the heart of the hotel – expect lots of juicy meats and fresh fish dishes to sink your teeth into.

The Crown is set in the heart of Amersham, in London’s rural outskirts. This quaint and quirky market town wears its history with pride and is surrounded by the bounding hills and valleys of the Chilterns.

Main Inn Standard

Situated in the main building overlooking the high street, these rooms have been designed by Ilse Crawford in a pared-back modern-rustic style with warm neutral colours. Each room features a comfy double bed (an extra baby cot can be added on request) with pure cotton sheets and a Jacob’s wool blanket, and includes a flatscreen TV, iron and ironing board (on request), and a separate workspace with a desk and free WiFi. The beautifully designed bathrooms are fitted with large rainforest showers.

Main Inn Deluxe

Situated in the main building overlooking the high street, these rooms have been designed by Ilse Crawford in a pared-back modern-rustic style with warm neutral colours. Each room features a comfy double bed with pure cotton sheets and a Jacob’s wool blanket, and includes a flatscreen TV, iron and ironing board, and a separate workspace with a desk and free WiFi. The beautifully designed bathrooms are fitted with large rainforest showers. Some of these rooms have space for an extra bed (£20 a child, each night, subject to availability).

Duplex Suite

Choose one of these charming, split-level suites for the feel of your own little cottage within the inn. Many feature characterful period details like wooden floorboards and low beamed ceilings. Each has a king-size bed, a freestanding roll-top bath in the bedroom and an ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower. You’ll also find a TV and free WiFi. Some of these suites can accommodate an extra bed for a child, subject to availability (please request at booking) – there’s a charge of £20 a child a night.

Located in the newly-renovated Bailey Annexe, these cosy double rooms echo the style of the Main Inn with a contemporary slant, such as Ercol furniture and Anglepoise lamps. Rooms have comfortable double beds (an extra baby cot can be added on request) and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Rooms have a flatscreen TV with Bluetooth soundbar and free WiFi.

Bailey Deluxe

These large double bedrooms can be found in the recently renovated Bailey Annexe, decorated in the same style as the rooms in the Main Inn but with contemporary touches such as Ercol furniture and Anglepoise lamps. These rooms have king-size beds (an extra baby cot can be added on request) and soft linens, with an ensuite bathroom with walk in shower. Rooms have a flatscreen TV with Bluetooth soundbar and free WiFi.

This spacious and country-cool bedroom is located in the heart of the main building, overlooking the high street. Designed by Ilse Crawford in a warm, pared-back chic style, these rooms include a flatscreen TV, WiFi and a Roberts radio. The huge bed has pure cotton sheets and a Jacob’s wool blanket. The stylish bathroom has a roll-top bath tub and is fitted with a large rainforest shower. Some of these rooms have space for an extra bed (£20 a child, each night, subject to availability).
