A modern Roman masterpiece, Piazza di Spagna 9 hotel is a six-room art enclave beside the Spanish Steps. Tucked behind a wooden door, across a courtyard in a private building, the space feels like a secret art gallery, with paintings, sculptures and installations throughout the space, and custom beds, tables and light fixtures. Staff are onsite by day, offering recommendations and arranging spa treatments, but in the evenings, guests have free-range of the refined space. Steps from prime shopping streets and the city’s best sites, Piazza di Spagna 9 lets guests live like locals in the heart of Rome’s most beautiful and prominent neighborhood.

The two Deluxe Rooms each have an ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower, decorated with fresh flowers and supplied with a stash of L’Occitane bath products. There’s a flatscreen TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, free bottled water and a minibar. Whisper (28sq m) has a queen-size bed with a metal canopy, butterfly-style leather armchair, designer console table and lamp, and high ceilings, alongside a digital art installation. This room connects with the Breath Junior Suite. Aria (28sq m) has a balcony with views of Rome’s rooftops. Designed with industrial accents, this room has a queen-size bed, paintings by Frattini and accessories by Swedish company No Early Birds.

Junior Suite

Joy and The 9 are the hotel’s Junior Suites (32–35sq m). Each has a queen-size bed, balcony overlooking the city or the hotel’s inner courtyard and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and L’Occitane bath products. Joy, dressed in red and blue, has sculptures and paintings by Nicola Guerraz, and a separate seating area. The 9 overlooks Via Margutta, from the bedroom and city views from the glass-walled shower in the ensuite bathroom. This suite also has original artwork, including a portrait of actress Monica Bellucci. All suites have a flatscreen TV, a Nespresso coffee machine, free bottled water, free WiFi and a minibar.

Junior Suite with View

With perfect views of the Spanish Steps and surrounding square, this 35sq m suite is one of the city’s most unique spaces. The queen-size bed was designed by Puntolargo with special fabrics to create a celestial feel. The space is designed with Venetian stone floors, custom armchairs and a sculpted console table, as well as an installation by a local artist. There is a flatscreen TV, free WiFi, a Nespresso coffee machine, free bottled water and a minibar. The ensuite bathroom has a rainfall shower, as well as a large sink, fresh flowers, and L’Occitane bath products.

Exclusive use

If you want a luxurious place to call your own in, frankly, one of Rome’s best locations - just next door to the Spanish Steps and within easy walking distance of Piazza del Popolo and the Trevi Fountain - then book out all of the hotel’s six bedrooms, each with a flatscreen TV, minibar, free bottled water, L'Occitane bath products and air-conditioning.
