When in Rome, live as the most style-savvy Romans do at Palm Suite, an apartment-like stay where a double billing of classical history and kaleidoscope mid-century modern design steals the show. With the Roman Forum and the Colosseum steps away, you can skip the Vespa and see the sights from your suite. The (amphi-)theatrics continue inside the stately 18th-century building: retro furnishings, bold prints and colonial accents take centre stage, with floral and – of course – fronded flourishes completing the scene.
