Locanda Rossa Superior Apartment

This enormous Superior Apartment is part of Locanda Rossa, a family-friendly resort estate set in a blissfully bucolic patch of Tuscany. Inside, neutral tones and natural materials sit happily alongside modern design features under the painted beamed ceilings, and there’s a private garden and barbecue for alfresco dining. A short walk takes you to the hotel and its child-friendly facilities, including a family pool, playground and football pitch. Grown-ups have a separate pool to themselves, as well as a gym and Turkish spa with another pool indoors. An ample Continental breakfast is laid out in the conservatory each morning, and the hotel restaurant cooks up sumptuous slow food for lunch and dinner.

The hotel’s set deep in Maremma’s countryside with little around except acres of precisely arranged olive trees. Piccolo hilltop comune Capalbio is a five-minute drive away, and the coast’s peaceful beaches are 30 minutes’ drive away.

Opening out onto the Maremma countryside, these 110sq m apartments – a short walk from the main house – are set across a three-floor villa. The rooms are accessed from the garden via a staircase, which leads down to the basement. Here, there is a living room, master bedroom (with a double bed), a second bedroom with twin beds and two bathrooms (one with a bath tub, the other with a shower). On the ground floor, there’s a large living room, fully-equipped kitchen (with an oven, microwave, coffee machine and toaster) and a garden with a dining table, sunloungers, a barbecue and parasols, along with two parking spaces. You’ll also find WiFi, air-conditioning and a flatscreen TV, and a laundry room in the basement.
