Amangalla
Reborn as Amangalla boutique hotel in 2004, the grande dame of Galle Fort once welcomed throngs of travellers from globe-traversing P&O steamers as the New Oriental Hotel. Seven Bedrooms are located adjacent to Amangalla’s reception, on the ground level of the Middle Street Wing, with views of the garden or the historic Groote Kerk (Great Church). Three bedrooms are set within the property’s gardens, with French windows and doors that open onto the grounds. Each bedroom has twin or a king-size four-poster bed, writing desk, dining table and pettagama chest. The spacious bathroom boasts a free-standing bathtub, separate shower and twin vanities.
