Wilderness in the truest sense. The kind you feel paddling down the Zambezi as elephants gather at the water’s edge, or lying awake beneath star-filled skies while leopards move quietly through the grass. Walking safaris trace wildlife paths, river camps glow at sunset and nature feels close enough to touch.

Our perfect route
Everything we offer is fully bespoke; the itinerary below is an example of what our experts can create with you.
Lusaka
A practical, low-key capital with a softer side than many expect. Tree-lined neighbourhoods, good hotels and a growing food scene make it a comfortable pause before heading bush. Most travellers pass through briefly, but it’s an easy place to recalibrate before safari.
South Luangwa
This is where Zambia made its name. Walking safaris are taken seriously here, with guides who read tracks, behaviour and landscape with confidence. The river draws wildlife in close, and days unfold at a measured pace – patient, grounded and richly rewarding.
Lower Zambezi
Life here revolves around the river. Canoes slip past elephants on the banks, boats replace vehicles, and camps sit lightly within the landscape. Safaris mix water and land naturally, creating a rhythm that feels relaxed but full – varied days without rushing or repetition.
Livingstone
Upstream from the falls, the Zambezi feels broad, calm and quietly powerful. Lodges sit away from the crowds, with days shaped by the river – boat cruises, wildlife along the banks, slow mornings. The falls are dramatic, but it’s the water and pace here that make the stop worthwhile.

When to go
Dec - Apr
A lot of lodges and camps close due to the rains - but this can be a magical time for birdlife and low rates!
May
There may be some rain drying out towards the end of the month - it's an exciting time at the start of the season when the bush should be lush and green. The Victoria Falls will be at their most impressive at this time of year.
Jun - Oct
The best time to be in Zambia, during the dry season when the wildlife will be prolific. The landscapes will turn from green in June and July, to brown come late September and October.
Nov
The start of the rains can be a dramatic and beautiful time to be there - it's very hot and thunderstorms are a welcome respite from the humidity.
