Best of South Africa and Mozambique

You’ll love exploring the beautiful city of Cape Town, tucked between the wild Atlantic Ocean and the iconic Table Mountain. This city has something for everyone and is well-suited to a family trip, a group of friends or the most romantic of honeymoons. You’ll explore the neighbouring wine region with its rolling vineyards and picturesque mountain towns, which have become a food-lovers paradise. Next, head to the Kruger National Park for South Africa’s “big five” safari experience before finishing your trip on the immaculate white beaches of the Indian Ocean islands.

All the things you’re dying to ask but haven’t

Covering these four fantastic destinations may seem like a push, but the logistics are easy and with our Nemo guides, you really can have the best of Southern Africa in one trip. The Kruger National Park is South Africa’s premier game-viewing destination, home to the “big five” and some of the best safari lodges and camps on the continent. Looking for something special? Ask a Nemo Travel Experts about our Sabi Sands private game reserve camps. The Indian Ocean coast of Mozambique is the perfect sun-soaked end to your holiday. Snorkel or dive off the coast, drink cocktails by the pool or enjoy a spa treatment. We don’t really need to tell you what to do here, do we?

We recommend two weeks for this trip. Cape Town and the Winelands are best explored over five days, and three nights is perfect for a great safari experience. As for the beach, that’s up to you! Ready to talk things through with a Nemo travel nerd? Let’s do this!

A few more tips...

Cape Town

  • Head to a local food market with one of our guides for some fresh produce.
  • Hike Lion’s Head, not Table Mountain - fewer people, better views.
  • Stay here for at least three nights, you won’t run out of things to do.

Winelands

  • Travel by Franschhoek tram, a great way to enjoy the region.
  • Enjoy one of our speciality wine tours.
  • Have lunch in Stellenbosch, the ultimate foodie stop.

Greater Kruger

  • Pack some good binoculars - a safari must-have.
  • Look for the ‘big five’ but ask your guide about the smaller game too.
  • Safari’s are a great social experience, so don’t assume you need a private guide.

Mozambique Coast

  • Get chatting to the locals and ask about their culture.
  • Make the most of your lodge’s in-house activities (included in your package).
  • Experience fantastic diving and snorkelling.
