Peru's capital city thrives on architectural wonders, historical charms and culinary genius. This sophisticated city stands over a long coastline lined by high-rise condos built alongside pre-Columbian temples with a delightful choice of museums, trendy art galleries, and, of course, a busy nightlife scene.
Together with Cusco, Peru's Sacred Valley is the gateway to Machu Picchu. But it's also an incredible destination in its own right, with myriad trekking routes, fascinating Incan history, awe-inspiring ruins like those at Ollantaytambo, and breathtaking natural landscapes.
This ancient Inca site was built around 1450AD and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. Named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007, it is Peru's most famous destination - for good reason! An absolutely thrilling site to explore, with its lush vegetation and steep escarpments shrouded in ethereal clouds.
Cusco, a city in the Peruvian Andes, is known for its historical charms and impressive colonial architecture. The city is a great option for travellers seeking Peruvian culture, ancient traditions and modern life. Trekking up Cusco's Rainbow Mountain is a must.
Lake Titicaca, set between the border of Peru and Bolivia in the picturesque Andes Mountains, is one of South America's largest lakes. The deep-blue waters are famously calm and home to amazing rare aquatic wildlife. Traditional highland culture still stands today within the region - think crops harvested by hand, vibrant Peruvian dress and wandering llamas.
The stunning landscapes and magnificent historical architecture of Arequipa are framed by the Chachani, Misti and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. A place you won't want to leave, thanks to its spectacular array of fusion restaurants, breathtaking cultural sights and attentive hospitality. The city's picturesque location makes a natural starting point for hiking, rafting, and exploring the Cañón Del Colca.

Jan - Mar
Rainy season in the Andes and Amazon ending around March, summer on the coast. La Candeleria festival on the shores of Lake Titicaca is in February. The Inca trail is closed for the whole of February but Machu Picchu remains open, and we recommend avoiding the area in Jan and Feb due to heavy rainfall.
Apr - Sep
Dry season and best time to travel in the Andes, lower water in the Amazon. The country is at its busiest Jun - August. Inti Raymi festival is on 24th June and Lima's Mistura food festivcal is in September. This is the best time to visit Machu Picchu & Cusco, Lake Titicaca and to spot condors in the Colca Canyon.
Oct - Dec
Increased temperatures and rainfall in the Amazon and mists on the coast.
