Quito
High-set and sharply defined, Quito mixes baroque churches with everyday street life. Old Town holds the history, while neighbourhoods beyond bring food, bars and a more contemporary rhythm. The altitude is noticeable, but the city's distinct neighbourhoods make it easy to find your footing.
San Cristóbal Island
The Galápagos feels most lived-in here. Sea lions nap on harbour steps, frigate birds circle overhead and wildlife moves through town without separation. It was also the island Darwin first came ashore – close, everyday encounters have always defined this part of the archipelago.
Santa Cruz Island
This is where things pick up pace. Highlands filled with giant tortoises give way to some of the strongest marine life in the Galápagos – sharks, rays and dense schools moving fast through deep water. Days are active, built around movement, immersion and scale.
