Son Mas

Son Mas is a 17th-century finca turned boutique hotel just inland from Mallorca’s east coast, set among acres of fruit groves and farmland. Palma’s pulse-racing nightlife is a 40-minute drive away, but this rustic honey-and-cream-hued stay feels cloistered from the outside world – the ideal setting for a relaxing country break. There’s little to do here but drift along in the infinity pool, float out of the spa floral-scented and devour home-cooked Mallorcan cuisine, but that's all the excitement you'll need.

Son Mas hotel is in a quiet rural area on Mallorca’s east coast. Surrounded by almond and fig trees, it’s close to beaches and petite resort towns Porto Cristo and Porto Colom, and subterranean grottos at the Caves of Drach are a 10-minute drive away.

Junior Suite

There’s only one room type at Son Mas, but these rustic suites (roughly 59sq m each) are simple yet striking, with cream walls and linens, and natural-wood furnishings and ceiling beams. Each has a four-poster bed, a private terrace overlooking the sprawling green grounds, and a spacious bathroom with a separate bath tub and shower. They’ve all got their own character and quirks, but the one that bucks the trend is Room 7, which is spread over three floors and has a unique domed bathroom. Suites have a flatscreen TV, minibar, safe and WiFi.

Villa S'Ullastre

The 27,505sq m S’Ullastre Villa offers everything you need for a Mallorcan home from home. The rustic villa is 250m from the main hotel and has a covered outdoor living area, an indoor living area with a fireplace and dining table, a fully-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a large private pool and views overlooking the garden and the countryside. The villa comfortably sleeps eight people in four bedrooms; two bedrooms have a king-size bed and the other two have twin beds. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. There’s also a guest WC. The villa has free WiFi, a laundry room, a satellite TV, air-conditioning, a daily housekeeping service and four parking spaces.
