Rainy season - you can expect rain most days but enjoy pockets of sunshine in Guanacaste & Puerto Viejo

Design your trip
On arrival at San José airport, you'll be met by our representatives and driven to your hotel. We recommend the British Airways flight which is currently the only direct option. You can also fly via one of the European hubs such as Madrid or Amsterdam, otherwise via the US. Most flights will arrive early evening, so a night in San José is required.

It might be tempting to use the city as a gateway to the rest of the country but spend some time to get to know this modern cosmopolitan city's parks, museums and restaurants before you head off to the Central Valley, to experience its agreeable climate, go whitewater rafting, undertake a plethora of cultural excursions and visit coffee plantations, volcanic craters and lagoons.

We charge a 20% non-refundable deposit, plus charge up front for flights we book. These terms are aligned with our partner hotels, activity and logistics partners in each destination.
If you need to change your trip, we will do everything we can to do so without a charge. Similarly with cancellation, whilst the deposit is non-refundable, we can often transfer this to a future trip.
