Days in Malaysia & Borneo unfold in a rhythm shaped by rainforest, adventure and beautiful beaches. Mist drifts through ancient canopies, fireflies flicker along the Kinabatangan River after sunset, and the landscape shifts from deep emerald jungle to quiet stretches of sand and calm, tropical bays. Orangutans move quietly through the treetops, hornbills cut across the sky, and pygmy elephants wander through the jungle. It’s a place that feels magical and untouched - warm, wild and wonderfully alive.

Our perfect route
Everything we offer is fully bespoke; the itinerary below is an example of what our experts can create with you.
Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s dynamic capital, is a bustling metropolis shaped by cultural diversity and striking modern architecture. Its skyline is adorned with towering skyscrapers, including the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, while at street level you can explore vibrant neighbourhoods ranging from the historic district of Chinatown to the shopping haven of Bukit Bintang. Indulge in a culinary adventure at bustling street food stalls or dine in world-class restaurants. With its blend of tradition and innovation, Kuala Lumpur offers an unforgettable city experience for all.
Sepilok
Sepilok sits within the Kabili–Sepilok Forest Reserve near Sandakan, a peaceful pocket of lowland rainforest known for its wildlife conservation centres. It’s home to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, making it one of Sabah’s most accessible places to observe rescued and rehabilitated wildlife in a natural forest setting.
Kinabatangan River
The Kinabatangan River winds through one of Sabah’s richest wildlife habitats, where dense jungle shelters orangutans, proboscis monkeys and colourful birdlife. Dawn and dusk cruises offer chances to spot hornbills, saltwater crocodiles and, with luck, pygmy elephants. Guided forest walks bring you closer to the rainforest, while calm waterways and a gentle pace make this a rewarding escape for travellers seeking wildlife encounters in a serene setting.
Danum Valley
Danum Valley, Sabah's most pristine primary rainforest offers one of Southeast Asia’s most immersive nature experiences. Towering trees and mist-covered canopies shelter orangutans, gibbons and rare birdlife. Guided walks and canopy viewpoints bring you closer to the forest, while night safaris reveal its after-dark wildlife, making this a memorable choice for a true wilderness escape.
Kota Kinabalu
Kota Kinabalu is a coastal city framed by the South China Sea, with a relaxed waterfront, lively markets and an impressive floating mosque. It works well as a short city stopover and is also home to some of Borneo’s best beach resorts, with idyllic islands just a short boat ride away.
Langkawi
Langkawi, Malaysia's island gem, captivates with its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and rich cultural heritage. Visitors can bask in the sun at Pantai Cenang or explore the mystical Pregnant Maiden Island. The island's vibrant night markets offer tantalizing local flavors and unique souvenirs. Adventure-seekers can trek through the dense jungles or indulge in thrilling water sports like parasailing and jet skiing. With its blend of natural beauty, cultural charm, and adrenaline-fueled activities, Langkawi promises an unforgettable holiday escape for travelers of all tastes.

When to go
Feb - May
These months bring fantastic wildlife sightings across Borneo and offer the ideal conditions for tackling the climb up Mt Kinabalu.
Jun-Aug
Peak season in Borneo, but Langkawi tends to be wetter, so we recommend heading to Malaysia’s East Coast instead for reliable sunshine and the chance to spot turtles along its beautiful beaches.
Sep - Oct
Shoulder season in Borneo: wildlife sightings are still frequent, but the beaches and Mt. Kinabalu experience more rain. Worth considering pairing with other destinations for a beach combination, such as Indonesia
Nov- Jan
Borneo is in its rainy season, so we’d avoid it for now, but conditions are perfect for soaking up Penang’s rich culture and unwinding on Langkawi’s beautiful beaches.
