Thotalagala

Steeped in history, this former tea plantation is one of the region's most exclusive boutique hotels. Expect some signs of the estates history in architecture but none in terms of vibrancy and energy from the local staff. The food offering is fantastic, with local chefs cooking up a storm and there is an adults only pool area to quite literally keep the kids at bay.
